Education
College A program is operated that provides a great number of opportunities for adults in Carrot River and surrounding rural areas. The College will arrange for programs in areas where there is a demand for them throughout the district. Courses from the University of Saskatchewan are available in Nipawin, arranged through the Community College.
Carrot
River Elementary School Carrot Rivers Elementary School is Kindergarten to Grade 4. In 2010 there are 100 pupils. The Carrot River Elementary School also includes a large playground area and play equipment, outdoor ice skating rink and a large gymnasium.
Carrot River Jr./Sr.
High School
The Carrot River Jr./Sr. High School is Grade 5 to 12 and in 2010, 195 students
are registered. A pre-school program for children four to five years old is coordinated by
a volunteer committee and operated in a space provided. The School has large grounds
featuring a track for track and field events, a football park and program, an exercise and
weight room and operates other sports including curling, volleyball, basketball and
badminton. The Carrot River Jr./Sr. High School has a long history of regularly having
students receive high academic honors such as the Governor-Generals Award. Both schools
feature extensive libraries, which compliment the Wapiti Regional Library, located on Main
Street. Library The Carrot River branch of the
Wapiti Regional Library is located in the Town Office building on Main Street.
