I was raised in Carrot River. I was born in 49. My Dad had a locker house and I spent most of my growing up years there if I wasn't out on a horse. I would like to hear from anyone that would remember me. I'm currently living a gypsy live. We are working and traveling our way around the States and loving every minute of it.

The web site is great, I learned a few things I didn't know. Last time I was back home was at the beginning of the year to visit family.

We ran the Coop store keeper and post at Smoky Burn, east of Carrot River from 1952-55. Two of our children, Mark and Laura were born in Carrot River hospital. I (Bud) drove to CR twice a week to get the mail and supplies of our country store. If there's anyone out there who remembers us, we'd be glad to hear from you. We'll visit CR during the Smoky Burn reunion planned for July 2005.

I lived in Carrot River for 3 years in 1977. It was my husband's first posting as a mountie. We were from Ottawa and we simply adored the town and the people. I remember walking to work at 11:30 at night to the Pasquia Senior's Home and seeing the wonderful northern lights dancing in sky. In 1979, our son was born in the old hospital which closed not long after that. We were transfered to Maple Creek and then Hafford and finally back to Ottawa in 1987. My husband and I have still have many wonderful memories of that town.

Dear People of Carrot River and area, I am looking to find out more about my grandfather. His name was Martin Klassen, he married Susanna Heibert. They had 3 sons and a daughter. My dad's name is Martin Klassen as well. My mom and dad lived in Nipawin for most of my life, but we now live in Alberta. And I am moving to the States cause I married an American. I am wanting to find out anything I can about my grandpa. I know he used to build bridges for the Rm of Moose Range. And if anyone knows anything else, or can tell me about any experience they had with him, please write me and let me know. Thanks.

I was born in Carrot River in 1938, moved to Montreal and then to the states at age 4 1/2. My parents migrated from the Carpathian Mtns and my dad worked in the forest cutting down trees. I had a twin sister who died at the age of 6 weeks and is buried at he cemetery. Hope to be able to visit in the future to see the cemetary and also where we lived. House is not standing but another home was built on the property.

Wonderful seeing such a great site about Carrot River!! I lived there when I was in elementary school and left after grade six. I went through quite a depression missing the trees abd the snow. Yes the snow was absolutely awesome and everyone thinks I am exagerating when I whine about how little snow we gwt here. (LUMSDEN AND REGINA REACH)
Anyone out there that remembers me feel free to reach me!! in the title put in carrot river friend and your name!!

I moved to the Carrot River area in 1932. My Dad had a coffee bar (Logger's Inn) and Crozier Taxi. I ran the Dray Business. I moved into town in 1945 with my wife Mable. We left for Vancouver in 1951 and I worked for the GVRD for 26 years. I am now a widower and retired in Mission, BC with most of my children living nearby or in neighboring areas (Washington/Alberta). Thanks for the reminder of the past!

I am a desented of the Wright family. My Grandfather Wright brothers' emigrated to Canada pre WW1. There was a son called Dudley married to Muriel. I would love to hear from any family members. My Mother, Gladys, used to write to Dudley, and I remember their visit to Kent many years ago.
The site is interesting too. My husband and I are hoping to visit in the not too distant future.

I once dated a special girl from Carrot River. Over the years I lost track of her. Her name was Edna Hildebrand, she lived with her Uncle Jake (I think?) and I have always wanted to re-establish contact with her. The time I refer to is the middle 60's.
Any chance you might be able to assist?
